Most Common Problems of Google Nexus One and How to Fix Them
In a world where there are so many mobile phone manufacturers, did you ever think that a popular search engine company such as Google will take the risk of getting into competition? Well, the company did through its launch of the Nexus One. It even pushes to shake up the mobile phone market.
But just like any other companies who have tried to compete in this industry, Google is currently facing some issues. Forums are filled with some techie savvies expressing their disgust on some problems they have encountered with their purchase of the company’s mobile phone product.
Common problems with Nexus One
Some of the most common problems of Nexus one revolves on connectivity, customer service and recovery fees. Below are further explanations regarding these matters together with recommended solutions on these problems:
1. Limited carriers for the phone. As of the moment, there are only two companies who agreed on marketing Google’s Nexus One. These are the T-Mobile USA Network for Deutsche Telecom AG and Verizon Wireless. The only solution to increase the number of carriers who will be convinced to market this product will happen once the gadget proves to sell like hotcakes in the market. Early consumer response is vital.
2. Limited customer support. It is important for Google to market its product and provide customer support. The problem now is it cannot extend the necessary support needed by its consumers. In fact, it had informed the public that it will only respond to consumer complaints sent via email. All these include other issues such as billing support. There are solutions that the company may undertake for this problem:
- Partners can choose not to market the device while Google acts as a reseller for its product.
- The next one is to use Verizon Wireless to help handle customer complaints and billing concerns. This will then be said to be one that follows a traditional maker and carrier relationship.
3. Connectivity problems. This is the technical problem encountered by people using Nexus One. In fact, just one week after each launch, many consumers have complained about connecting with the 3G network of T-Mobile. This can then be solved by using Google’s customer service model that can be found over the net. This contains a consumer troubleshooting guide for the mobile phone.
4. Recovery fee issues. After consumers flooded the emails of Google because of connectivity problems, recovery fee issues also surfaced. This is in connection with the $350 fee for equipment subsidy. This will be charged to consumers who will opt to cancel their wireless plans with T-Mobile within four months after the contract started. This fee is aside from the cancelation fee of $200. But as Google management asserted, this is standard fee for early termination of the contract.
All the problems that Nexus One is currently facing happen due to negative publicity. These are just like the usual birth pains encountered by child-bearing mothers. The real solution is for Google to face the odds and prove that its mobile phones are worth investing on. Otherwise, consumers may just snob the product and buy other high-end phones offered by other manufacturers in the market.
