Depending on where they are being used, both varieties have their own advantages and disadvantages that will help you decide on what printer Ink will best suit your needs.

Advantages of Using Solid Ink Printers

Disadvantages of Solid Ink Printers versus LaserJet Printers
Despite the convenience of use and general ease of maintenance that solid ink printers provide its users, it is still not the advisable printer especially for offices and workplaces that does printing in bulk and often. Though it may be one of the fastest printers around, solid ink printers are more catered to producing quality prints but not in bulk. In this case, LaserJet printers are the choice printer because it usually takes lesser time to get warmed up and the ink that it uses are usually faster to dry than the more delicate solid inks.
Though a bit more expensive than solid ink printers, LaserJet printers are more suited to the workplace environment. Mobility is another thing that solid-ink printers have conceded to its regular ink counterparts. Solid ink printers are usually installed in one central location and used for volume printing because it warms up slower and burns its own ink when left standing idle for a long time.
Another thing is the permanence with which the solid inks stick to the paper. Documents printed with a solid ink printer have the tendency to fade over time when put directly under the sunlight. The resin colors tend to melt or be scratched away by sharp objects making the printed documents less durable than laser jet print-outs.
For offices that want their printers to warm up faster and be portable whenever the need arises, regular laser jet inks are probably the better printer to use since it warms up faster and will not be burning its own printer ink when left idle unlike solid ink ones.
