There are actually two types of printer cartridges made to fit the needs of Brother 1440 printer users. The first one is the TN-460 that is sold by the manufacturer at around $90.99 and promises a page yield of 6,000. The second one is the TN-430, a black toner cartridge that generates a page yield of around 3,000. This one, on the other hand, is being sold at around $62.99 by its manufacturer.

The good thing about these two Brother 1440 toner cartridges is that they were made not only for the HL 1440 printer. They can serve multifunction printers, copy and scan LED printers as well as fax machines from Brother. For instance, the TN-460 is good also for MFC 8300 and 8500 while the TN-430 fits MFC 8600 as well.

Installing these printer cartridges is also very easy. Simply open the top cover, pull out the assembly unit and detach the toner cartridge. Replace the toner cartridge in the unit assembly and then the unit assembly in the printer unit. From there, the printer is ready to use.
