Canon MP610 is one PIXMA printer that requires special sets of print cartridges. As proof to that, the company provides five types of inks for this printer. The first type is the black ink cartridge known as the PG-5BK. The other four types are for color ink cartridges – the CLI-8Bk, the CLI-8C, the CLI-8Y, and the CLI-8M.

These printer cartridges are offered at different prices in the market. Canon offers the black cartridge at $18.49 and the color cartridges at $15.99 each. When you buy from retail stores, prices may range in between $19 and $22 though. But if you want to save, you can buy multi-value packs instead.

Installing the MP610 ink cartridges is easy as well. You simply have to lift the top cover of the printer. From there, use the left slot for the black cartridge and the right slot for the color cartridges. The number ’1′ on the LED display indicates that the cartridges were properly installed. A number ’2′ will appear though if it is otherwise.
