Do-It-Yourself Project: Emergency Numbers List and Food Delivery List
The emergency numbers list and the food delivery list are things that are handy to have around. If you suddenly have the craving for your favorite fastfood takeout or just feel too lazy to cook, it would be so convenient to be able to glance at your food delivery list and just dial the number that you want.
When it comes to emergencies, it goes without saying that the quicker you respond to the situation, the higher the likelihood that you would avert the resulting damage and danger. Having an emergency numbers list can save you a lot of time. Thus, the emergency numbers list and the food delivery list are definitely useful to have around.
It is not hard to make them, too. All you need is your computer and printer, as well as some paper and ink cartridges.
Adding the Numbers to the List
For some people, the only emergency number that they need to remember is 911. But for a lot of other people, their list of emergency numbers goes beyond that. It could include the number of the nearest emergency room, the babysitter, specific doctors or specialists treating members of the family, and any friends or relatives that the family needs to get in touch with if anything dire happens.
As for food delivery numbers, the list can be endless. But no matter how long the list can get, what is important is figuring out the numbers that would make it into these two lists.
Laying Out the List
You can make your emergency numbers list and food delivery list as plain or as pretty as you want. But you would definitely want to make these lists eye-catching. You can achieve it by using bigger fonts or by adding pictures.
For example, you may want to put the picture of your family doctor beside his or her number. The same thing with your babysitter; you can put her picture right next to her number. You can also put the logos of the restaurants you will add to your food delivery list next to their numbers. Putting pictures besides numbers will help anyone who looks at the list find and recognize the numbers they are searching for more quickly.
You can prettify your list even more by adding borders to the list or using colored paper. But since these are lists that you would need to read easily, make sure that the layout is not cluttered, the fonts are big and the background color of the lists is light enough for you to be able to read it even in the dark. One good idea would be to print these lists on neon-colored paper, since neon colors can be read more easily even when it is dark.
To protect your emergency numbers list and your food delivery list, you can have them laminated. And then, if you want to put them up on your fridge or whiteboard, you can attach magnets to your lists. Or you can just pin them up on your corkboard.
