When Does It Make Sense to Get Your Printer or Copier Repaired vs. Get a New One

This is one of the questions which always trickle in the mind of people who have printers or copier with them and they often cease to function. How frequently your copier or printer asks for repair is how often it is used and how is your handling? If you handle it in a nice manner, the life of printer or copier gets prolonged in spite of calling for frequent repairs with rough handling.

If you need help of printer and copier repair service provider for once or twice in blue moon, its okay but things seems annoying when you have to call printer or copier repair professional even once or twice a month. During the warranty period it is bearable but what after that? Obviously you have to bear the charges of his fees and the parts which get replaced. This only burns a hole in your pocket. Then you start thinking about replacing your old printer or copier with a new one rather than getting it repaired. But it is not so easy to buy a new printer or copier and you always think that getting the malfunctioned printer or copier repaired is much cheaper than buying a new one for you but if your printer or copier gets repaired frequently; you have to look at big picture. Now, you have to make a wise choice between getting your printer or copier replaced or repaired.

To bail you out from this situation, here is some advice. This advice will work only if you printer or copier’s warranty period has expired and it asks for frequent repairs.

First, calculate repair costs you have paid for making your printer or copier work again in last six moths. If the costs are more than fifty percent of the cost of the printer (when you brought it), you should seriously think of getting it replaced with a new one. If you still want to stay with your old printer, then it is for sure you will end up paying more amounts at the end of year than what a new printer or copier would have cost you. If you think, you can’t purchase printer or copier in one go, you always have option of getting it financed. This way, you will not only get a new printer with a warranty period but will also get rid of all pain which your old printer or copier gave you. You can take the EMIs as monthly costs of getting your old printer or copier repaired but at same cost you can expect reliability, efficiency and you will never be let down.

This way, you can easily judge yourself if getting your old printer or copier repaired is worth the cost or you should replace it with a new one to make you relieved, tension free.
