How to Create Fun Products with Your Printer for Toddlers
When you are trying to entertain young children, you might find yourself facing a tremendous challenge. The good news is that you don’t have to look any further than your own computer and printer to find ways to keep those little ones occupied for hours. Below are a few suggestions.
Coloring with No Book
If you do a search on the Internet for “pages to color” or a similar phrase, you can find hundreds of pages that you can print off using any black and white printer and printer ink cartridges. Then all young toddlers need to be entertained is a box of crayons and a hard surface so they can color.
Educational Activities
Kids this age love learning and don’t really know the difference between education and fun. That comes later. The good news is you’ll find a wide range of educational activities on the Internet that can be printed off for free. Below is a couple.
Handwriting – Start teaching little ones how to write letters by printing off letters and lined sheets of paper so they can start writing just like they would in school. Write out fun phrases for them to copy.
Number Recognition. You can use a word processing program to create a few bingo sheets using simple numbers and letters. Call off the numbers and letters so toddlers can make them off. Give the winning toddler a prize.
Instructions for Projects
What can you do on those rainy days when the adorable toddlers are trapped in the house and need something exciting to do? Do a quick search of the Internet and you’re bound to find some great projects or recipes that you can work on with the children. Two examples are below:
Cookie Recipes. Download a couple of inexpensive cookie recipes and have the toddlers help you in the kitchen. When you’re finished, have a contest to see how many of the cookie flavors the children can name.
Paper bag Puppets. You can find some east instructions to help you with the project details online. However, you’ll definitely need some ordinary lunch bags and glue sticks. Print out eyes, noses, and other facial features that can be cut out and glued to the paper bags. When the kids are finished with their creations, have them act out a puppet show for you.
Nap Time
Finally, you will probably use the other activities to wear out your toddlers. That means the next step is the glorious peace and quiet period known as nap time. However, you can’t have a great nap time without a good story to read the little ones to sleep with. The good news is you can find quite a few fun children’s stories available on the Internet. Just print out copies of the text and read them to the children. That way you can have an enormous library of children’s stories without having to use up space in your home.
