Printer Error Codes: Codes for Different Printer Brands

Loading ...Printer error codes appear each time you encounter some problems during the printing process. Depending on the product brand you own, you will encounter different errors. HP printers have varied codes when compared to other product brands such as Lexmark, Sharp, Panasonic or Brother.
Learning about printer error codes will allow you to know how to troubleshoot your printers. Do not panic if you see these codes appear on your printer or computer screens. As long as you know what these codes are, you will definitely be able to go about the procedures accordingly. The printer error codes below are classified according to the type of printer you own. These are more of the basic messages you encounter when it comes to printer error.
Error Codes for HP Printers
The most common HP printer error messages are as follows. The codes are basically made up of the word error and a succeeding number. Learn about how you may go about these errors.
1. Error 02. This printer error indicates that the printer is “warming up”. If you see this HP code, you should turn your printer off and unplug the cable. Turn it on to see if it is ready for your printer concerns. If not, then you must have the formatter board replaced.
2. Error 11. This indicates that your printer is out of paper. In some instances, this code appears even if you have placed paper in your tray. Check if the tray is positioned properly. In some cases, you also need to check the paper sensor arm. Make sure that it is not broken.
3. Error 12. This printer error indicates that the printer is open. You need to check if the ink or toner cartridge is properly installed. Likewise, you have to check if the top cover is closed or not.
4. Error 13. This is the printer error code that signifies that there is a paper jam. You need to check the jam in the entry, exit or registration portions of the printer. This may also indicate the need to replace your pickup roller.
Printer Error Codes for Lexmark Printers
Lexmark is another popular printer brand in the market. Just like with HP printers, you may encounter some error codes while printing with these brands. The number 22 indicates paper out or paper jam and the number 30 for an open printer cover. Additionally, you may also have problems with the following errors:
1. 24 or Invalid Manual Feed. This means that you should not feed paper in the manual feed area if the printer does not request you to do so.
2. 31 or Change Paper. You have to check whether the size of the paper you installed is the same as that requested by the software or not. Correct this printer error by installing the right paper size.
Panasonic and Sharp Printer Code Errors
Aside from HP printers and Lexmark printers, you may also encounter errors with Panasonic and Sharp printers. For Panasonic printers, the most common errors include the following: E10 or abnormal charge corona current; E11 or abnormal transfer corona current; E12 or discharge LED open; E13 or the error in obtaining the correct toner density; and E26 or fan motor not on. For Sharp printer error codes, you may meet; optical system error or C1; defective driving motor or c2; defective polygon motor or C3; high heater temperature or C4; and low heater temperature or c5.
There are other printer error codes you may encounter in these printer brands. These errors should not be taken as signals for immediate replacement or refilling of your ink cartridges. Sir, my hp5180 printer will not print anymore,the lights stay on when i press off,can only unplugged from the wall,I took the printer to a printers outfit and he informed me that it was a mechanical problem and could not help me.I bought the printer in 2007 August, also I paid for a 2year waranty extention, woul I still be covered? At times the window showed no ink,but every cartridge was new, some time it would say, no black ink!then it would say turn of printer,but I could not ! only from the wall point.Could you please help me ?

My dell924 printer has stopped printing. I have cleaned the cartridge area realigned the paper .It was previously printing .I recently replaced the cartridges.I’m totally stumped as what else to do. The red exclamation mark keeps flashing.
