Pros & Cons of Buying a Samsung Laser Printer for your Home or Office

Loading ...The Samsung brand may not be synonymous with printing but their line of laser printers are a popular option among computer users. They may be best known for their work in the electronics field but there are some pros and cons to choosing one of their printers as well.
Pros of Buying a Samsung Printer
There are a number of advantages to purchasing a Samsung inkjet or laser printer.
• Price. Samsung laser printers and samsung toner cartridges are quite affordable compared to similar units on the market by other manufacturers.
• Variety. Although Samsung concentrates primarily on laser printers, they offer models in a number of price ranges so you can find one that meets your needs. Smaller units that would be ideal for home or small offices are available right along side mammoth printing workhorses that cost several hundred dollars and would do a great job for departments and larger offices.
• Energy efficient. Some Samsung laser printers, such as the ML-1630, are Energy Star compliant which means they will use less electricity and can help you save money in that way as well.
Cons of Buying a Samsung Printer
While Samsung printers clearly have plenty of benefits, there are also some drawbacks you might want to take into consideration.
- Poor customer service. Some customers have reported that the customer service has seemed and even admitted to being overwhelmed by the demands of consumers who are having problems with the printers. As a result, fixing problems has not been as quick or as stress-free as it should be, especially while the printers are under warranty.
- Costly toner cartridges. With toner being sold for more than $100, Samsung printers seem to have a higher operating cost than most other units. That means, despite saving money on your energy bill, you may end up paying more just to use the printer.
Minor Problems
In addition to the two main concerns above, some consumers have experienced a myriad of minor problems with their Samsung laser printers. When you’re doing your own research, these are bound to come up but try not to let one or two individual opinions be the basis for your entire decision. Remember that sometimes a unit just doesn’t work right even when the rest of that model has done a great job for other users. Pay the most attention to the complaints you hear repeated frequently.
