Canon printers are among the many products and endeavors that set Canon, Inc. apart from the other players in the imaging and optical products industry. The company has given us many good printers over the years. The year 2009 is no different, and though it is far from over, the newly released Canon printers are steadily making a splash in the market.

What are the Canon printers that are enjoying top ratings in the market this year? Here is a partial list.

1. Canon Pixma MP630. The Canon Pixma MP630 is proving itself to be an ideal Canon printer for the home or the small office. It looks trendy and stylish, with its black-and-silver design and its nifty control panel that you can conceal when you are not using the printer.

Performance-wise, the Canon Pixma MP630 can print an average of four to five pages per minute, both black-and-white and color, although color prints on photo paper may appear slightly washed-out. Most of all, it works a lot more quietly than your usual multi-function printer.

2. Canon Pixma MX330. If you are looking for a full-featured all-in-one printer but are short on the budget, the Canon Pixma MX330 may be the answer to your needs. This Canon printer model is quite cheap, but it can fax, scan, copy and print quite decently. The design is compact and sleek, and it only makes use of two cartridges – one black and one tricolor.

For such a cheap model, it has an automatic feeder and an LCD display that you usually would not see on a printer of its price range. It also prints some five pages per minute on the average, which is the same rate for a number of printers twice its cost. The only thing you might miss on the Canon Pixma MX330 is the fact that it does not have a media card reader for direct printing.

3. Canon Pixma MP980. This Canon printer model is a great all-in-one printer for the photo printing enthusiast. Although it is a bit on the heavy side, the Canon Pixma MP980 has a solid design, with its 3.5-inch LCD display and a whole array of user-friendly buttons.

The Canon Pixma MP980 prints bright colors and sharp details. Its monochrome photo printing is especially dramatic because of the dedicated gray canon ink cartridge included in its cartridge bay. Printing speeds can go up to six prints per minute.

4. Canon Pixma IP4600. The Canon Pixma IP4600 is great Canon printer for the home user and amateur photo printing enthusiast. For all that it is an inexpensive printer; it churns out high-quality photos that can give the output of more expensive inkjet printers a run for their money. The rate by which the Canon Pixma IP4600 prints out photos is also quite fast at two per minute.

The only flaw of this Canon printer model is that it is not fitted with a media card reader, which is essential for direct printing. It is also quite on the boxy side and a little too heavy to move around.
